Raúl Fernández extends with Trackhouse through the 2028 MotoGP season

Trackhouse has confirmed Raúl Fernández for the 2027 and 2028 MotoGP seasons, keeping the 2025 Australian GP winner with the team as new regulations arrive.

Trackhouse has confirmed that Raúl Fernández will stay with the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, keeping the 2025 Australian Grand Prix winner in place as MotoGP enters a new technical era. The official announcement, published through MotoGP on Wednesday, settles the Spanish rider’s immediate future before this weekend’s British Grand Prix.

Fernández has raced for Trackhouse since the project’s first season in 2024 and has become one of its most important riders. The team is part of the Trackhouse Entertainment Group, and the renewal covers the opening two campaigns of MotoGP’s new regulations, which bring new machinery from next season, so he will face that reset in familiar surroundings rather than at a new team.

A first win and three podiums in 2026

Fernández’s Trackhouse years have produced the strongest results of his premier-class career. In 2025 he took Sprint podiums at Mandalika and Phillip Island before winning his and the team’s first Grand Prix in Australia, then closed the year with second place at Valencia. That form has carried into 2026, when he has added three Grand Prix podiums and three Sprint podiums, including Sprint victories at Mugello and Assen.

The Assen weekend was a landmark for the team: Trackhouse won both the Sprint and the Grand Prix in the Netherlands, with Fernández’s Sprint victory followed by teammate Ai Ogura’s first premier-class win. Bettista’s Dutch TT report covered the double at the time.

Commitment into the new rules era

The extension runs through the first two seasons under MotoGP’s new technical regulations. The 2027 campaign opens in Thailand at Buriram, as Bettista reported at the start of August, and Fernández will begin it with the team he joined before its first race rather than as part of a fresh project.

Trackhouse Entertainment Group owner Justin Marks said the team is “thrilled” to confirm Fernández for the next two seasons, describing how the rider has “grown as a rider both on the bike and with his preparation, approach, and maturity.” He said Trackhouse is “poised to be a consistent championship threat in the years to come.”

Trackhouse’s second seat stays open

The renewal settles one half of Trackhouse’s 2027 lineup but not the other. The team has not yet announced who will ride alongside Fernández, keeping its second garage open while the rider market continues to move. Fernández is the latest rider to fix his 2027 plans in a market that has already produced major shifts, including Pedro Acosta’s move to the factory Ducati team and Francesco Bagnaia’s switch to Aprilia, both covered by Bettista at the end of June.

Fernández now heads to Silverstone with his future settled. The Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Great Britain is Round 12 of the season, with the race scheduled for Sunday, and the official weekend schedule details the running order. Bettista’s Silverstone preview sets out why the championship arrives there with five riders separated by 24 points.
