West Ham United have completed the signing of Manor Solomon from Tottenham Hotspur, the club confirmed on Monday, with the 27-year-old Israel winger handed the No10 shirt on an initial three-year contract. The deal includes an option for a further year, and the fee was not disclosed (whufc.com).
Solomon becomes West Ham’s third permanent arrival of the summer transfer window, following Venezuela midfielder Keiber Lamadrid and Dutch defender Joël Veltman. The club’s announcement also made clear why the winger was targeted: West Ham will play the new season in the Championship, and the signing is built around winning promotion back to the Premier League.
A No10 with a promotion brief
Director of player recruitment Nils Koppen and head coach Nuno Espírito Santo identified Solomon as a key attacking target. Koppen pointed to the player’s recent experience of the division when the deal was announced: “He also has proven quality and recent experience in the EFL Championship, and knows what will be needed for us to be successful in this challenge.”
Solomon, capped 49 times by Israel, made the objective his own. “Our first task is to get promoted, to go back to the Premier League,” he said in the club announcement. “I’ve spoken both with the manager and with Nils. They showed me the project, what they want to build there.”
That familiarity with the second tier is more than theoretical. On loan at Leeds United in 2024/25, Solomon registered ten goals and 12 assists in 39 Championship appearances, including the winner against Plymouth Argyle in May 2025 that clinched the title for Leeds (club profile).
A career that has crossed four leagues
Solomon’s route to east London has taken in Ukraine, England, Spain and Italy. He won three Ukrainian Premier League titles with Shakhtar Donetsk and, in October 2019, became the youngest Israeli to score in the Champions League, adding a group-stage winner at Real Madrid the following season. A Premier League loan at Fulham in 2022/23 brought four goals in 19 appearances, including a run that made him the first Israeli to score in three consecutive Premier League matches since Ronny Rosenthal in 1992, and he joined Tottenham permanently in 2023 before spending last season split between Villarreal in La Liga and Fiorentina in Serie A.
The club’s numbers for his career: 84 direct goal involvements in 280 senior club appearances, plus 21 for his country. As a teenager, he was named in UEFA’s “50 for the future” list for 2018/19. Solomon also referenced West Ham’s recent European pedigree, noting the club won a European trophy three years ago, and promised to “give my all” in the push for promotion. “I’m really happy to be here, happy to be a Hammer, and I can’t wait to get started.”
With the No10 shirt and a squad preparing for a Championship campaign, Solomon arrives as the most senior of West Ham’s three summer additions to date, with a return to the Premier League set as the measuring stick for his first season at the club.
